Day 2: God, Make Our Husbands Alert and On Guard

Jesus is the ultimate spiritual leader and left many examples on how to fulfill this amazing calling that husbands have.  The shepherd has to be on guard and always alert, watching out for what lurks around looking to devour one of the members of the flock.  The Bible states, there is a devil that lurks around like a lion looking for someone to devour.  A husband, as the leader of a family, MUST be on guard and alert to the promptings of the Holy Spirit to know when something dangerous has entered the home, such as music, movies, books, texts, internet sites, etc.  The husband is called to be the protector of the home, so this day is dedicated to focusing our prayers to uplift them to be Always Alert and On Guard Spiritually!

Praise God, He is our Victorious Overcomer!
Read: John 16:33, 1 Corinthians 15:57, Colossians 2:15, 2 Peter 1:3-4, I John 4:4, I John 5:4, and Revelation 3:5

Confession
This is a time of examining our hearts before the Lord.  If there is anything you need to confess to God, do it now, so you do not hinder your prayers.

Thanksgiving
Take this time to thank God for answered prayer or for what He is doing in your life, your husband's life, your marriage, or your family.

Intercession:
Today we will pray that our husband's would Be Alert and On Guard Spiritually.  Say the prayer below and insert your husband's name into the blank spaces.

Ephesians 6:10-13, Holy Lord, we ask that ___________ would be strong in the Lord (empowered through his union with You); may _________ draw strength from You (the boundless strength that You provide).  I pray for __________ to daily put on the whole armor of God so that he may be able to successfully stand up against (all) strategies and deceits of the devil.  Remind _____ that he is not wrestling with flesh and blood (contending with only physical elements), but against the powers, against the (master spirits who are) the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural sphere).  I pray _______ will therefore put on God's complete armor, so that he may be able to resist and stand firmly.

Ephesians 6:14-17, I pray the belt of truth around _______.  I pray the breastplate of integrity on _______.  I pray the sandals of the gospel of peace on _____ so he may face the enemy with firm-footed stability.  I lift up the (covering) shield of saving faith upon which _______ can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked (one).  I pray he would take the helmet of salvation and sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God as his defensive and offensive weapon.

Ephesians 6:18, I pray that __________ would pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit to keep alert and on watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God's consecrated people).  Keep __________ spiritually alert and on guard and to not be ignorant of the enemy's schemes and tacts, in the strong name of Jesus, Amen!

And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith
and believing, you will receive.
Matthew 21:22
