Day 15: Be a Good Father

I don't know about you, but the desire of my heart is that my son and whatever other children may come our way will have a great relationship with their father.  They will have a father they can look up to, honor, respect, love, and cherish good memories.  In today's society, there are so many absent fathers in homes either due to divorce or other circumstances that has caused the father to be absent in the lives of their children.  And it's heart breaking because kids need their daddies, just as much as their mommies.  The role of a father is so important! So, today we uplift our husbands in prayer to be the good father that God has called them to be!

Praise
God is a Good Father! Read Mark 14:36, Romans 8:15, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, 2 Corinthians 6:18, Galatians 4:6, 1 John 1:3, and 1 John 3:1.

Confession
This is a time to examine your heart before God.  Ask Him to reveal anything that may hinder your prayers and confess it.

Thanksgiving
Take this time to thank God for answered prayer or for what He is doing in your life, your husband's life, your marriage, your family.

Intercession
Today we will pray that our husband's would be a Good Father through Scripture verses to pray, just insert your husband's name into the blank spaces.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7
Lord, I pray that _________ will first have Your Word in his own mind and heart so that he will be able to teach and impress Your Word diligently upon the minds and hearts of our child (children).  I pray that ___________ would continually speak of You and Your ways to them as they sit in our home, as they walk by the way, when they lie down to sleep and when they arise in the morning, ________ would continually direct them to You and model an intimate relationship with You before them.

Ephesians 6:4
Father I pray that __________ will not irritate or provoke our child (children) to anger.  Help him to (not exasperate them to resentment), but rather I ask that You would help ____________ to rear them (tenderly) in the training and discipline and the counsel and admonition of the Lord.  I pray _________ would be a good father like You.

Proverbs 23:24
Lord, I pray that _________ would be a father of the (uncompromisingly) righteous (the upright, in right standing with God), may he greatly rejoice because the father of a wise child shall have joy.  May _______ and I experience the fruit of having wise, obedient children who love You because of __________'s and my example to love and follow You wholeheartedly, in the gracious name of Jesus, Amen.

"And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith
and believing, you will receive."
Matthew 21:22
